Very common problem with old matrix, disassemble the dashboard and get the matrix out and clean it with hot water mixed with fairy liquid, works great to unclog all the muck in there. You will find that shaking the matrix vigorously while filled will help to clean it faster, just cover the inlet and outlet with your thumbs and make sure you wear gloves not to get burned.

You will notice the difference after on full hot.

Heater core not working

Probably an easy fix but I'm a bit stumped, my heater core won't heat up!

I've already burped the coolant system, so there's no trapped air, and I'm pretty sure the thermostat is opening as the top hose gets hot then the bottom hose gets a bit warm ( my rad is amazing) when the car is warming up.

I've checked the two hoses leading to the heater core and neither of them get warm regardless of the settings on the console or the temperature of the engine, has anyone got any ideas?

thanks in advance guys!
