This could be the last of the modifications now. I'm eyeing up possible cars on the jap auctions. I think i'm going to hunt for a cosmetically standard car then possibly sell this one. Its easier to keep modifying this with matching CBY front arches to the rear than revert this one to standard. We will see what happens...

Had a nice couple of deliveries. Two brand new front indicators and side lights plus some parcel shelf supports. I need to find a parcel shelf to buy or borrow one to draw a template.

Apparently it never ran well on carbs and simply drank fuel. It's still crap on fuel lol but not as much.
This weekend I progressed a little more

Dash out

Then replacement dash nearly in and now a passenger seat fitted

Just got to get the lower dash parts in

Looking good Kev, That reg looks so familiar I think I was about to buy this 86 many years back. Back then it was running on carbs :D .

I'm putting it through an MOT next week in its current state. I'm trying to keep the car running as I modify rather than take it off the road. I kept it stored for winter for 5 months but it needs a bit of use over summer. I'll get the other seat in this weekend and hopefully sort the dashboard so it looks tidier.

Thanks Lauren

This is how I got the car

I've just got hold of some rear interior parts, I'm halfway through removing the dashboard as well to replace the old one with all the dials cut into the passenger side. I need to get a rear parcel shelf and mounting plastics, and ideally some rear quarters that have the arm rest as thats what the car had originally. In the front I modified the DW seat rails to fit an OMP seat

I went from this

to this

Looks like a nice car, Kev. Good work! :)

Do you have any interior pics?

Its about time I started my build thread!

I bought the car end of 2013 on a bit of a whim. A work colleague had watched the Initial D film and was talking about it. As I read the comics as a kid I had to watch the film, then had to obsess about buying one.

I picked up this from Scotland. Flew up to view and bought it after a rather enjoyable test drive.

It came with some spare Rota V's so these were fitted to the back and another pair were bought to match the front.

I was getting a horrible resonance from the induction so the original kit went into the spares bin

and I made my own with parts at work, fixed the oil temp sensor wiring and tidied the enginebay up a little
