Winter rides

Postby Bagpuss » Fri Oct 03, 2014 7:02 pm

Winter is fast approaching, and as we all know Corollas don't like water or salt! So what're people going to be driving when the wind and rain comes?

I've been debating getting myself a volvo 340 for the cold months, I figure a car born in Sweden can handle the uk winter no worries, and they're cheap as chips.

Lower it, put it on mad jap wheels and give it a bosozoku lightning bolt exhaust. It'll be awesome!

GT86 is my daily. I've got a set of winter tyres if the going gets tough.

Just a thought. Are 340's injection or carb? I'd avoid a carb in the winter going on previous experience.

I think the 340s are run off a carb, but I don't need a commuting car so reliability isn't so much the issue as trying to prevent the corollas rear arches from rusting away! Of course there is always the option of running the corolla through the winter and paying to get it repaired in the spring as they need doing anyway...

As for the push bike option you're a braver man than me!
